Welcome to room6rainbows wikispace....Our wikispace has been up and running for a few weeks now ...so it's time to update a few things.
Term 3 has begun ....our inquiry for this term centres around the question "How do New Zealanders effect the environment?"
Our inquiry for the first part of the term looks at "How can we reduce, reuse and recycle the waste we create?"
Later in the term we will ask questions about the effect we have on the global scene.
By now parents, you will have seen the Home Learning grid for the term.........most activities link to the environment theme.
Go to the Home Learning page to view the grid if your child has "lost" their copy!!
This term I'm hoping to get some of the children adding bits and pieces to this wikispace, making it more of their site rather than mine.....
So why Rainbows?
As a class we talked about a symbol that we could identify with. After discussing a variety of options we decided we were rainbows.......why?
*Rainbows are made up of a variety of colours
*Room 6 is made up of a variety of personalities
*Rainbows often appear after darkness, gloom or storms *Sometimes our learning is difficult and often stormy or we cant see through the "gloom" Then all of a sudden we see "the light".
*A pot of gold is found at the end of a rainbow *Success and achievement can be found at the end of our learning.
